How to apply

FAQs

Will the Chinese government's for-profit tutoring ban affect this group?

There is absolutely 0 effect because:

(a) we are a nonprofit

(b) we don't provide tutoring for the Zhongkao and Gaokao entrance exams.

How do I apply?

Just email your resume and a one-minute self-introduction audio to our exclusive email for applicants: chipan1@yahoo.com (had to use my family email because at the time I don't have a phone number to register personal e-mail accounts. Since this email has become the de facto email address for applications, I decide not to change it).

When sending your applications, there are a few things to remember:

(a) don't e-mail videos;

(b) don't send google file links;

(c) don't send anything else.

What's the requirement or qualification?

We want to provide the best education, so it is not an easy job to teach at our group

We look for teachers who have at least 3 years of teaching experience. A bachelor’s degree in English or a related field is also a must. With that being said, we do welcome teachers with different backgrounds, such as history, political science, natural science, mathematics etc., to apply.

Do I need teaching certificates?

No! Absolutely not! We believe that your ability to teach cannot be measured by how many certificates you process.

What's the application process like?

Upon receiving your resume and audio, I will do an initial screening and present those who have passed to our volunteer parents. If a parent is interested in picking up a teacher, he or she will contact you via email or Skype. This parent, also called a handler, will arrange a 50-minute trial class. If the teacher can pass this trial class, the handler will start recruiting students in our group for this new teacher.

What's the teaching hours?

4-5 pm to 9-10 pm during weekdays.

A teacher seriously thinking of teaching in our group must commit such time slot to our group during weekdays and maybe a day or two in the weekend. We need teachers who can commit at least 20 hours per week to teaching in our group.

We do offer possible full time teaching hours during winter break and summer break.

How is the pay?

Payments are made by the parents directly, and I am not involved in it.

We pay $6 (USD) per 50-minute class. To receive the payment, a teacher can select either Paypal (in this case $6 per class are paid directly) or select AUB Paymate (if you are in the Philippines) to receive the pay (in this case the rate will be converted to Pesos, according to the current exchange rate, now it is 310p per class). I strongly recommend teachers to use their AUB Paymate account to receive the pay because the transaction fee on Paypal is way too high, somewhere near 7-8%, whereas it is only 2% for AUB Paymate.

A teacher usually receives payment weekly or biweekly.

Are you still hiring?

Yes! We are always hiring. Bunny English has a great reputation for offering high quality and affordable English classes to kids because we don't draw dividends. Instead, our parents pay the teachers directly. We have new members joining the group on a daily basis. That is why we are always seeking for quality teachers for our students.

I am thankful to Tutu English for giving me this opportunity to reach out to more students. My co-teachers are very helpful. I am loving how this company value their people.
